When I think of San Antonio there are a few things that come to mind such as Fiesta, Mexican culture, warm nights, downtown walks, Day of the Dead art, and parks. However, when I think of the Hill Country, north of San Antonio, I think more of of the wildflowers and religious businesses. The religious businesses are the thing that surprise me the most. I never realized until I moved to Texas that churches could run anything from car washes to coffee shops to thrift stores. It never stops amazing me when I go into a store and underneath the name runs the local church that is supported by the proceeds. It's nice, as strange as it sometimes is as well. Up in my part of town we got a new highway system from the future as well as billboards such as these.
